Julie

Mitchell
Head Instructor

Julie began sailing classes with AYSC in 2004 and became a Junior Instructor for 2005.  She received her US Sailing Instructor certification in 2006 and became AYSC's head instructor in 2007.  

Julie was crew on AYSC's yngling youth team in 2005 and skippered the youth boat in 2006 and 2007.  Alpena brought home the youth trophy in 2005 and 2007.

Julie is currently a sophomore at Central Michigan University where she is studying Electrical Engineering.

Kurt Kurzenhauser
Instructor

Kurt became a Junior Leader for AYSC in 2006 and received his US Sailing Instructor certification in 2007 when he became an AYSC instructor.

Kurt is currently co-captain of the AYSC Yngling youth boat.

Kurt is currently a sophomore at the University of Michigan where he is studying Chemical Engineering.

Scott

Mitchell

Scott took sailing classes through AYSC in 2004 and 2005.  He became a Junior Leader for 2006 and 2007 and went through US Sailing Instructor certification classes in 2008.

Scott is currently co-captain of the AYSC Yngling youth boat.  He crewed on the 2nd place youth boat in 2007.

Scott is currently a junior at Midland High School.
